Tulsa city council approves budget

After a marathon session to discuss and vote on the City of Tulsa budget for next year, the Tulsa City Council approved the document late Thursday.
Councilors GT Bynum and Chris Trail successfully made two amendments to the mayor’s budget plan.
Bomb threat suspect arrested

Police in Tulsa have arrested a man they say threatened to detonate a bomb at Tulsa International Airport.
Police say 42-year-old Timothy Harlow Hathaway was arrested about 8:20 p.m. Sunday after he made the threat to a Transportation Security Administration employee.
Tulsa losing American airline jobs

American airline announced to mover 200 of it staffers from Tulsa to Texas.
Airlines officials said Monday the company is consolidating employees of the Maintenance Operations Center, which oversees aircraft maintenance at line or overnight maintenance stations, with the Systems Operations Center in Fort Worth.
Tulsa 66ers making history

The Sixers are set to tip off with Head Coach Nate Tibbetts’ former team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, at 12:30 pm at the Tulsa Convention Center. Doors will open at 11:30 am.
It will be first time for 66ers to host playoff games in NBA history.
HSBC closing Tulsa offices

HSBC Finance Corp. plans to close its Tulsa facility by the end of September and eliminate approximately 465 jobs, the company said Wednesday.
HSBC entered the Tulsa market in December 2005 after acquiring Minnesota-based Metris Cos. Inc., one of the country’s large bank card issuers, which had a Tulsa office along with several other operating centers around the nation.
Homicide suspect arrested in Tulsa

A Tulsa man wanted in connection with a homicide during a fight earlier this week has been located, and officers say murder charges are pending. Authorities had been looking for Pernell Jefferson until he turned up at Hillcrest Hospital late last night. He was being treated for injuries sustained in a fight with his alleged victim, Carl England. Court records show Jefferson has assault, firearms and drug convictions dating back to 1992.
