http://ktul.images.worldnow.com/images/16580707_BG2.jpgA lawsuit brought against the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy has been settled. The lawsuit, filed by Tulsa Refuse, Inc., alleged that the TARE board violated the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act when it worked to put together bid specifications for a new contract for the city’s next trash hauler.

As part of the settlement, there will be no monetary pay out and each side will be responsible for its attorney fees. TARE will pick a new contractor Thursday at noon and if the company awarded the contract is unable to provide service by July, Tulsa Refuse will step in at the same rates.
