Tulsa city councilors delayed a vote to approve a plan to finance trash carts for residential customers for another two weeks, a move that delays the Tulsa Authority for the Reclamation of Energy (TARE) from moving forward on awarding a trash collection contract.

The council decision came during the regular Thursday night council meeting. District 2 Councilor Jeannie Cue made the motion, which she said was prompted by a barrage of emails and phone calls opposed to changes in the trash service.
