Tulsa elementary teacher, 25, dies in car crash

A Tulsa elementary school teacher was killed in a crash west of Tulsa Wednesday evening, according to school officials and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Miranda Brooke Jeanette Titsworth, 25, was a first-grade teacher at Wright Elementary School, a Tulsa Public School spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.
UCF basketball shoots for its first win at Tulsa

The Knights (15-4 overall, 5-1 in C-USA) will work to protect their slim edge atop the conference USA standings when they play at Tulsa (11-9, 4-2 in C-USA) Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
UCF has been riding a wave of positive momentum after picking up their first wins in school history over Memphis and UAB last week. The Knights will be shooting for another first, aiming to defeat Tulsa for the first time on its home court. The Golden Hurricane is 6-0 against UCF in Tulsa.

Tulsa Trash Board Settles Lawsuit

A lawsuit brought against the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy has been settled.
The lawsuit, filed by Tulsa Refuse, Inc., alleged that the TARE board violated the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act when it worked to put together bid specifications for a new contract for the city’s next trash hauler.
As part of the settlement, there will be no monetary pay out and each side will be responsible for its attorney fees.
Ross Parmley Named Tulsa Athletic Director

The University of Tulsa named Ross Parmley its full time athletic director Thursday, removing the interim tag from his job title.
“With the rapidly changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics –– NCAA reform, conference realignment and television –– it became more important that permanent leadership of the department was needed,” said President Steadman Upham. “Over the past several years, Ross has handled positions with increasing levels of responsibility and has demonstrated his ability as a leader and administrator. After watching Ross the past few months as interim athletics director it was an obvious decision to name him our Director of Athletics.”

Teenagers arrested after shooting death

Tulsa police say three teenagers have been arrested after a 66-year-old man was shot and killed during an apparent home invasion.
The Tulsa World reports (http://is.gd/8BLjZC ) that the teenagers range in age from 16 to 19. Police say William Zachary was shot in the face after a group of people wearing ski masks and hooded sweatshirts broke into his east Tulsa home Monday night.

The Tulsa women’s team fell victim to poor shooting once again Thursday night losing their second straight game at the hands of UTEP 67-56.
The Golden Hurricane managed only 29 percent from the field and 21 percent from three point range on the night.
